Aidan Spencer BOst MSc(Paed Ost) MICO

After a previous career in film lighting, Aidan trained at the British School of Osteopathy, graduating with a distinction in 2006. Whilst at the BSO he worked in a specialist clinic within a school for primary age children with severe behavioural difficulties. This experience sparked an interest in paediatrics. He went on to study for a Masters in paediatric osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children and was awarded a prize for outstanding achievement whilst on the course. He has also undertaken extensive specialist training in classical and ‘cranial’ osteopathy.

Since graduating Aidan has mainly worked in Brockley and has a strong commitment to the South London area where he has lived for most of his life. He worked at the Osteopathic Centre for Children for 13 years, latterly as a Consultant and has experience of running their clinic in Barnet Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit treating premature babies. He teaches at postgraduate level in London and Europe. He authored several chapters in “Differenzialdiagnosen in der Kinderosteopathie”, a german textbook on diagnosis for paediatric osteopaths.

Aidan has had a long-standing enthusiasm for the Chinese exercise systems of Tai Chi and Qigong which he teaches locally. This experience has informed a deep interest in posture. He has experience in carrying out workplace ergonomic assessments and offers exercise advice to interested patients, seeing osteopathy as working best as a collaboration. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages from newborn to nineties. He has specific experience in treating jaw (TMJ) problems and dizziness.

Aidan is recognized by the health insurers who cover osteopathy but is currently not seeing patients covered by BUPA, AXA or Vitality.
